Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Rachael Treasure is a qualified Professional Woolclasser, sheep dog breeder and trainer, journalist and novelist. Her writing aims at closing the gap between city and country people and to initiate a paradigm shift in thinking about how we manage the land. Along with four best-selling novels, including Jillaroo and The Cattleman's Daughter, Treasure's writing credits includes the screenplay for SBS' television drama Albert's Chook Tractor and a song, 'High Vis Anthem' (2012), which features on The Wolfe Brothers' second album. Treasure's most recent books are the short story collection The Girl and the Ghost-Grey Mare, and a dog training guide titled Dog Speak.
