Paddy O'Reilly is a Melbourne based writer. Her latest novel, The Fine Colour of Rust, was released in 2012. Paddy's 2007 collection of short stories, The End of the World won critical acclaim and numerous national and international short-story awards. Paddy's debut novel, The Factory, was featured in the best books of the year lists in Australian Book Review among others. It was broadcast in fifteen episodes as the ABC Radio National Book Reading during July 2009. As well as these critically acclaimed works, O'Reilly published a novella in 2007, and has worked on several screenplays. Now residing in Melbourne, Paddy spent several years living in Japan, working as a copywriter and translator in the early 2000s.
