Through the Write On Transport Subsidy, a small amount of funds have been made available to assist schools with transportation. Write On has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Besen Family Foundation.
How to apply
Applications for the Write On Transport Subsidy in 2012 have now closed, and all schools that applied have been notified of the outcome of their application.
Receiving the subsidy
Schools must invoice Melbourne Writers Festival for the amount awarded to them, before the end of September. Reimbursements are issued by cheque.
If your school has been awarded a subsidy, you must provide:
- a tax invoice for the amount awarded, addressed to Melbourne Writers Festival
- proof of hire or purchase (e.g. receipts/tickets or proof of transport hire)
- confirmation of the school name to whom the cheque should be made payable

Write On has been developed to assist schools to travel to the festival and does not apply to the cost of tickets. Funds for the travel subsidy are limited and not every school that applies will be successful. All applications are assessed after 15 June. Applications for funds are assessed by Melbourne Writers Festival. Melbourne Writers Festival is not able to enter into correspondence about unsuccessful applications.
