On the day
We want you to have an enjoyable and rewarding day at the Festival. Please read on for more information.
School bags
For safety and convenience, Melbourne Writers Festival suggests that students do not bring their school bags with them to the Festival.
Lunch
Schools' Program participants are welcome to bring their own lunch, however, no food or drink may be consumed inside the festival venues. Cafés and food outlets will be open during the Festival.
Photo permissions
Melbourne Writers Festival employs the services of a professional photographer to record events throughout the Festival. These photos are for archival and marketing purposes. The purchase of a ticket grants implied permission for these photos to be used for the intended purposes. If you, or any students in your care, do not wish to be photographed, please inform the photographer at the venue or contact a festival representative on the day.
Bookshop and author signings
Dymocks, the Official Festival Bookseller, will have titles by participating authors for sale during the festival. Come and visit the Dymocks Festival Bookshop in the Atrium at Federation Square, and continue exploring your favourite authors’ work.
Authors will be available to sign copies of their work in the Festival Bookshop directly after their events in Fed Square.
Dymocks Melbourne offers generous discounts for schools. Please take a look at our Festival Bookshop page for more information, and order forms.
