Mandy OrdMandy Ord is a Melbourne based cartoonist and illustrator. Emerging from a painting background she discovered alternative comics at art school and was instantly seduced by the medium.
She has self published her own comic books as well as contributed to a variety of comic anthologies and literary journals. Her work has appeared in The Age, Meanjin, The Australian Rationalists magazine, Voiceworks, Tango and Going Down Swinging. Her first graphic novel Rooftops was published in 2008 by Finlay Lloyd.
Focusing on autobiographical storytelling Mandy also teaches comics to high school students in Victoria as part of a literacy program. Currently she is working on a book of short stories using her protagonist ‘the one eyed girl’.
