Screenwriters and scriptwriters must have had at least one play or short film produced. If you are in doubt as to whether you meet the guidelines, please email the Associate Director (steve@mwf.com.au) before you book a place in the workshop. In this email please ensure that you include a brief list detailing your publishing history this list should have no more than 10 bullet points, and the subject line of the email should include the words Masterclass query. Workshops and masterclasses both have limits to the number of participants - 15 is the upper limit. This allows for interactivity, feedback and more personal attention. These sessions are very focused on one aspect of the writing process. Both workshops and masterclasses are full-day sessions with the exception of How to Write Good Fiction with M J Hyland which is 4hrs. Seminars are shorter sessions - 3hrs - with two tutors and have larger class sizes. So, whilst seminars are still focused in their subject matter they are less personal and less interactive. The Whole Shebang is a full-day seminar so it is a series of talks, discussions and case-studies with a large number of presenters. It is ideal for people who are new to the writing world or those who want to update their knowledge. Concession prices apply to children (16 years and under), full-time students, pensioners, seniors, The Age Subscribers, and members of ArtsHub, Museum Victoria, Victorian Writers Centre, Australian Society of Authors and Australian Writers Guild. |
