Poetry Idol Final

Twenty-eight of the best poets from grueling heats held at seven libraries in 2009 compete in the final for first prize, $2000 and a chapbook contract with Picaro Press. The poets have only one minute each to woo the crowd (and the judges). Come along and cheer for your favourite poet and see who will earn the title of 2009 Poetry Idol. Musical interludes provided by MC and poet Michael Crane and Trish Anderson.

The judges this year are author Christos Tsiolkas, The Age Poetry Editor Gig Ryan, Melissa Delaney (RMIT Union Arts Director) and Lynne Ellis ( RMIT Theatre director.)
