The Whole Shebang

The whole gang is here to enlighten, inform and inspire the writer inside you. This intensive day of seminars and case-studies will give you a direct line to the publishing industry. The Director of the Victorian Writers Centre, Joel Becker, will introduce you to an A-list of industry experts, all of whom will guide you into a career in writing.

This event-crammed day will include:

Bob Sessions (Publishing Director at Penguin) giving a birds-eye industry overview;

A discussion on the author–publisher relationship with Louise Swinn (Sleepers Publishing) and Brendan Gullifer (author of Sold);

Representatives from the City of Melbourne and Arts Victoria talking about their arts grants;

Tips on how to get published from Chris Flynn (Torpedo), Aviva Tuffield (Scribe) and Sue Hines (Allen & Unwin);

Gain ideas of how to create your own success from Jessica Au, Euan Mitchell and the Prime Minister’s Prize winner Steven Conte - plus hear words of wisdom from Bel Schenk and Elise Hurst. The day is rounded off with information from peak industry bodies such as the Victorian Writers Centre, Australian Society of Authors, Australian Poetry Centre and Express Media.

In addition, each participant of the Whole Shebang received a month’s free access to the Australian Writers Marketplace online!
