Janet DeNeefe

Janet DeNeefe
Janet DeNeefe is the owner of Casa Luna and Indus restaurants and author of Fragrant Rice. She also runs the Casa Luna Cooking School.

Originally from Melbourne, Janet has lived in Ubud, Bali for more than 20 years. Her memoir and cookbook Fragrant Rice (2003) is an account of her personal journey on the fabled island of Bali, interspersed with mouth-watering Balinese recipes and insights into Balinese traditions.

In response to the 2002 Bali bombings, Janet created the international Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, recently named by Harper's Bazaar UK as "one of the top Festivals in the world".
