Tara June Winch
Tara June Winch is a Wiradjuri woman born in 1983. Her novel Swallow the Air (UQP) 2006, gained awards including the David Unaipon Award, prize for New Writing - NSW Premiers Awards, Victorian Premiers Award for Indigenous Writing, and was also short listed for The Age Book of the Year, amoung others.


She is the 2008 recipient of the International Rolex Mentor/Protégé Arts Initiative which will see her work under the guidance of Nobel Lauriat, Wole Soyinka. She is ambassador for Indigenous Literacy Project and sits on the Australia Council for the Arts Board. Her second novel will be out in 2009.
