Peter Mares Peter Mares Peter Mares presents 'The National Interest' on ABC Radio National every Sunday at noon. Prior to this, Peter spent 15 years reporting on Asian and Pacific affairs for the ABC, including two years as a foreign correspondent based in Hanoi. Peter also works as a senior researcher at the Institute for Social Research (ISR) at Swinburne University of Technology working on issues related to human movement and human rights and is the author of the award-winning book Borderline.
