Leigh Hobbs

Leigh Hobbs
Leigh Hobbs, artist and author, was born in Melbourne but grew up in Bairnsdale. Leigh's artwork stretches across a range of mediums. He has made animated films, created a ceramic Flinders Street Station Tea pot, supervised the restoration of a carousel and created sculptures for Sydney's Luna Park, and designed the colour scheme Melbourne's Luna Park’s entrance. He is perhaps best known though for the 14 children's books he has written and illustrated featuring his characters Old Tom, Horrible Harriet, Fiona The Pig, The FREAKS in 4F and Mr Chicken. There is a little of Leigh in all these characters.
