Susan Hawthorne
Susan Hawthorne’s writing crosses boundaries encompassing cultural and political critique, fiction and poetry. Her book, Wild Politics: Feminism, Globalisation and Bio/diversity, was named one the Best Books of the Year in the ABR. The Falling Woman was similarly listed in The Australian, and a poem from The Butterfly Effect was included in The Best Australian Poems 2006. She is currently working on a new collection of poems, Earth’s Breath, which combines contemporary ecology with her studies of Sanskrit and Ancient Greek languages. She is the publisher at Spinifex Press and a Research Associate at Victoria University.
