Riaz Hassan  Riaz Hassan Riaz Hassan is Australian Research Council Professorial Fellow and Emeritus Professor of Sociology, Flinders University— Adelaide. He has conducted research on the sociology of housing and suicide and Muslim societies. His 10 year study of Muslim religiosity, which explored aspects of Islamic consciousness were published in Inside Muslim Minds and Faithlines: Muslim Conceptions of Islam and Society. His publications: {Singapore: Society in Transition}; Families in Flats; A Way of Dying; Suicide Explained: The Australian Experience; The Cambridge Handbook of Social Sciences in Australia<Local and Global: Social Transformation in Southeast Asia. Currently, he is researching into the global rise of suicide terrorism.
