Philistines, barbarians and the Death of IntellectThe philistines, according to some, are running rampant throughout the academy. Andrew Brennan poses the question: If radical challenges to the status quo are an essential component of a healthy culture and vibrant democracy, and if intellectuals have an important part to play in the generation and testing of new ideas, then the question arises: Is Australia running out of intellectual resources?
