Live Literary Remixing in Federation Square

Bring your laptop computer or mobile phone and be part of a live multimedia remix event at Federation Square, where you can freely remix brand new stories by Australian authors such as Cate Kennedy, James Phelan, Kim Wilkins and Danielle Wood.

Thanks to Remix My Lit, a Story of the Future Initiative, writers and the public at the festival now have unprecedented freedom to create new relationships to a collection of short stories, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike licence.

We invite you to view the works via the big screen in Fed Sq (and online at remixmylit.com), to re-imagine and remix them. You can then send your remixed short story or flash fiction to the SMS TV system on the big screen at Federation Square or post them to our website and even have your remixed texts incorporated in a live A/V set by M.

You can remix to your heart’s content as long as the original author is acknowledged and the new work is available for others to remix.

This hands-on event is for both budding and seasoned literary remix practitioners. All works created and posted to the Remix My Lit website during the event will be automatically considered for publication in a print anthology, giving emerging writers the enviable opportunity to showcase their work alongside established Australian authors.
