Time and PoliticsIn this talk, Jack Reynolds will indicate the close relationship that obtains between the ways of thinking about time and socio-political life. He will also suggest that many of the most obvious points of divergence between so-called 'analytic' and 'Continental' philosophy (such as their stylistic and methodological differences) are a consequence of their vastly different understandings of the temporal.Sponsored by Monash University There are 4 events in this wide-ranging philosophy series - have a look at the other three events too: Why Asian Philosophy?, Philosophers on Love, Philistines, barbarians and bureaucrats. Information Date: 30 August 2008 Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm Venue: ACMI 1
